“In my early years I was asking the question, how can I treat or cure or change this person? Now I would phrase the question in this way: How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his own personal growth?” - Carl Rogers.

Hello and welcome, my name is Sheryl Jones and I am a qualified humanistic counsellor. I have a private practice in a separate building adjacent to my home in the countryside. I offer one to one counselling sessions. My house and surrounding areas are very tranquil, calm, secluded and very private which some people prefer and find less clinical than an office based therapy room.

I have worked with many clients with a variety of issues some of these include bereavement and many other forms of loss, anxiety and depression, suicidal thoughts and attempted suicide, difficulty in accessing, expressing and regulating emotions, sexual abuse and trauma and many aspects of relationship problems.

My aim is to create an accepting, non judgemental environment where you can feel safe to explore what is going on for you and perhaps holding you back from the life that you want. You maybe feeling stuck, low and depressed or lacking motivation, we can work together to unpick your thoughts and feelings and this can help you to to achieve more understanding of them. Talking can also release old feelings that are not necessarily relevant to you now but are triggered by present events.

Some people I work with have a few sessions and others work for a much longer period of time this is dependent on each person and what they would like. I offer a free phone consultation to discuss what is going on for you and what support you are seeking, if I cannot answer your call directly I aim to get in touch within a day.

I am a registered Accredited member of the BACP, I attend regular training, reading and research to continue my professional development. I attend individual and peer supervision each month to ensure I am working ethically and looking after myself and my clients.

Counselling qualifications and some of the training I have completed include:

FdA humanistic counselling based on Transactional Analysis.

 NCFE counselling skills and theory.

101 Transactional analysis.

Training on attachment styles and theory.

Understanding Self-harm.

Creative tools for use in therapy.

Lego therapy.

NNEB (nursery nurse).

Fees

My fees are £45 per session (60 minutes)

If you require a reduced fee, I do offer concessions and we can discuss this.

Usually we agree a mutual day/time each week but this can be more flexible for some people.

Due to Covid I am working with clients in a larger room separate from my home, this is to ensure we can be as safe as possible.
